Goff Middle School in Pawtucket will construct a school garden that will better connect urban youth to nature as well as provide nutritious, locally grown food.
The mission of Goff Middle School, in partnership with home and community, is to establish an environment that values diversity and fosters respect for all individuals, an enthusiasm for learning, and a quest for success. Together, we will create a safe and nurturing school which produces well prepared learners who are familiar with current technology and prepared for life's challenges.
Our main interests are reducing our carbon footprint, waste reduction, environmental justice & education.
Exeter West Greenwich Junior High School was awarded $250 for materials for the construction of a new school garden.

Formerly known as the Center for Environmental Studies, IBES offers Brown University students an opportunity to study environmental issues in depth by integrating several academic disciplines. Thesis writers are encouraged to analyze an environmental problem of importance to the local community. The Center is housed in the Urban Environment Lab, a superinsulated passive/ active solar retrofit on the Brown Campus.
